An 11 storey mural, translated from photograph to artwork to precast concrete, needed a finish precise enough to capture the original artwork while standing up to the challenges of the Aucklandclimate.
ECOTONE worked closely with the design team to apply a custom colour finish to the precast panels within the precast factory, achieving an accurate, stunning translation of the artwork at scale. The coloured and uncoloured precast surfaces were then finished with a protective self cleaning coating, guarding the mural against organic buildup and graffiti while preserving its appearance overtime.
The result is a massive, visually striking mural completed on time and on budget, featuring a number of native New Zealand birds worked into the design. The team is proud to have delivered such a unique and technically demandingproject.
