Description
Martin Place Station is a new underground Sydney Metro station connected to the historic, heritage listed 1979 Martin Place Station, merging old and new to create a unique, efficient transportation hub for the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Line.
ECOTONE applied a custom concrete look coating to the internal concrete columns, using a combination of ground and boom access to achieve a consistent, natural finish throughout the station. The columns were then overcoated with a clear graffiti resistant protective coating, giving the surfaces an easy clean solution against future vandalism.
The result is a cohesive, natural concrete finish that complements the station's heritage connection while ensuring the columns remain protected and easy to maintain in a high traffic public transport environment.
