Wee Hur Regent Street is a purpose built 18 storey student accommodation development, delivering 409 beds in the heart of Sydney's university precinct. A standout feature of the project is Mana Gubra, a five storey mural by First Nations artist Leanne Tobin, curated by Nicole Monks, spanning the southernelevation.
ECOTONE supplied a custom ochre yellow coating to our approved applicator, who applied it to the unique moulded precast panels within the precast factory prior to installation, keeping the project on schedule and within budget. The ribbed precast concrete panels below the mural were coloured to match, comprising custom precast panels that demanded precision in design and application to ensure seamless continuity across everyjoint.
This tonal and textural harmony draws the eye upward, allowing the mural to stand out while tying into the overall facade. The result is a powerful, cohesive expression of culture, architecture andcolour.
