Wagga Wagga Agriculture Institute's new build needed the look of Corten steel without the cost and lead time challenges that come with sourcing and installing the realmaterial.
Working closely with the client, ECOTONE developed a customised Corten inspired coating finish for the compressed fibre cement cladding sheets, applying it via ground access. The layered coating system replicated the weathered, rusted character of real Corten steel on standard CFC panels, solving the client's budget and timeline constraints while still achieving the design intent they wereafter.
The result is a striking, weathered metal look across the building's grey cladding, delivering the ECOTONE WOW factor the client was hopingfor.
