BRIEF
Colour match concrete piers
Material & Application
During construction of the new Footscray Hospital, the concrete supplier delivered an inconsistent mix intended to be off-white. Instead, the result was a patchwork of grey and off-white tones, disrupting the uniform, natural concrete finish envisioned by the project’s architects.
Ecotone was engaged to restore visual consistency across the structure. Our team carried out a detailed on-site assessment and developed a custom colour-matching system to blend the varying tones into a cohesive, natural appearance. Using Ecotone’s breathable, long-lasting coating technology, we achieved a finish that complemented the architectural design while preserving the texture and integrity of the concrete surface.
This tailored approach provided a subtle yet effective enhancement, ensuring a consistent look without the need for costly or time-consuming concrete replacement.
Outcome
The completed surfaces now display a refined and consistent tone, restoring the clean, modern aesthetic intended for this landmark healthcare project. Ecotone’s solution not only corrected the visual inconsistency but also helped maintain the project timeline and avoid unnecessary waste or rework.
Our work has contributed to the visual quality and design integrity of one of Victoria’s most significant health infrastructure projects — a facility set to serve Melbourne’s growing western suburbs for decades to come.
