Kāinga Ora – Hill Crescent

Our expert applicators, Prima Projects, began the process by applying ECOTONE Primer and a custom colour in ECOTONE Sharp and Matt across the brick face and mortar joints. This created a consistent and neutral foundation for the finishing layers. The finish was carefully patterned by ECOTONE Technicians to give a distinctive, stylised appearance that elevated the aesthetic beyond traditional brickwork.

This project showcases ECOTONE’s ability to merge colour artistry with architectural vision. What began as grey brick formliner moulded precast was transformed into a striking display of patterned tones and textures—reminiscent of heritage Huntly Clay bricks, but with a bold, modern interpretation. The final result is a vibrant and visually engaging façade that brings character to the Kāinga Ora development while reinforcing the project’s commitment to quality, durability, and community-focused design.

The Kāinga Ora Hill Cres project was an exciting one to be part of. We really enjoyed working with a creative and artistic brief, and it was incredibly rewarding to see the impact the design concept had.
