BRIEF
Colour by Design to Concrete
Material & Application
We were specified to provide a natural smooth and consistent concrete look to the vertical precast concrete walls and in-situ concrete slab edges of the building. This customised concrete material finish was achieved using our ECOTONE Minsil. The concrete slab edges were further protected from water ingress using our ECOCLEAN Concrete Sealer.
Outcome
The Horizon Apartments are one of three new instalments transforming the former working harbour precinct in Newcastle, blending modernity with a nod to the city’s industrial past. The building’s material finish to the concrete exterior, achieved through a collaborative effort with our clients, showcases a stunning finish that pays homage to the city’s rich maritime heritage.
Testimonial
I wanted to take a moment to express my satisfaction with the use of ECOTONE Concrete Mineral Stain on our recent project, Horizon on the Harbour, in collaboration with the builder, BLOC. The ECOTONE finish has exceeded our expectations. The flexibility and willingness to finesse the finish have resulted in a truly remarkable end product. ECOTONE provides a unique service in terms of product, vision, and collaboration. Working with ECOTONE was a pleasure, and I speak on behalf of our entire team at CKDS Architecture. The collaboration was smooth, and the professionalism exhibited by your team contributed significantly to the success of the project. We look forward to the opportunity to work together again on our next project. Thank you once again for your commitment to excellence and the outstanding contribution of ECOTONE to the success of Horizon on the Harbour.
